The goal of this project was to create a structure between the two walls of a courtyard. My teammate and I decided to create two active towers. Each tower, composed of a series of triangular prism modules, was built with cords passing through the entire structure on each side. The cords passed through to the bottom of the structure and were controlled manually by a sort of puppet master. The towers mimicked living arms. We then could make them stand straight up or flex into other poses based on how the bottom cords were pulled. The final structures stood 12 feet tall.
